The Position:
Position Title: SAP Datasphere Developer
Location: Hybrid; Remote Off-Site and On-Site in Middletown, PA
Duration: 30+ Month Project
We are seeking an SAP Datasphere Developer to add to our team assisting the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) Information Technology (IT) Department.
- Design, develop, and configure SAP Datasphere solutions, integrating with SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems.
- Build and manage real-time data integration flows to ensure seamless data exchange.
- Utilize APIs, OData services, and connectors for efficient data retrieval and transformation.
- Design and implement scalable data models in SAP Datasphere to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Optimize data structures, hierarchies, and relationships to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Develop reusable data assets for reporting tools like SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI.
- Create data pipelines and workflows to support real-time and batch data processing.
- Ensure high-performance data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data integration and transformation issues.
- Collaborate with business teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into efficient data models.
- Develop user-friendly data points and views to empower business users for self-service analytics.
- Ensure data availability and accuracy for reporting platforms like SAP Analytics Cloud.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business users, and external vendors, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Implement and follow best practices for data governance, security, and performance in SAP Datasphere.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data integration workflows to maintain system efficiency.
- Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with technology staff, business owners, project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
- Lead and participate in project team activities for system work efforts related to enterprise systems.
- Work independently to accomplish the tasks and duties assigned.
- Adhere to and follow all PTC standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize various software and/or technology tools to perform job duties.
- Perform tasks and other duties as related to this position and role and assigned by the PTC.
The Skills and Experience:
- 5+ Years: Experience in data integration and analytics
- 2+ Years: Hands-on experience in SAP Datasphere.
- Experience in integrating SAP Datasphere with SAP S/4HANA and non-SAP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong knowledge of real-time data integration techniques and best practices
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL, and data integration workflows
- Hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud
- Knowledge of APIs, OData services, and integration tools for data connectivity
- Familiarity with SQL, scripting languages, and cloud-based data platforms is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
